Day Trip: 240 miles in 10 hours ...
Uggh. Christine and I went for a long day trip yesterday (Saturday).
We left Alameda around 10:00 AM and returned home at 8:13 PM.
In between we went:
South down I-880
To 101 South
Through San Jose
To the town of Morgan Hill, where we made stops at:
Quilts and Things
Quiznos
To 156 East(ish)
To the town of San Juan Bautista, where we made stops at:
San Juan Bautista State Historic Park
The Old Mission San Juan Bautista
There is a huge old Cork Oak (quercus suber) tree on 2nd Street adjoining the mission grounds.
To the town of Hollister, where we stopped at:
Homespun Harbor - which sadly for us, closed at 4:00 PM on Saturday (we arrived at 4:15)
Timber & Textiles - a strange place. The employee(s) present never said a word to us as we wandered throughout the store. No greeting, no 'please come again' as we left. Nothing. We won't bother stopping next time were in the area.
Happy Cookers
To 152 East
Case de Fruta - a town and tourist 'experience' in one!
Across Pacheco Pass
Past San Luis Reservoir
To I-5 North
To 580 West
To 237 West
To 880 North
Across the Miller-Sweeney Bridge
And finally, back into Alameda.
