Status continuing, not ...

going anywhere.

Probably working every holiday again this year (definitely working the 4th of July weekend ... again).

Good news == I still have a job
Bad news == There is a lot of work to do and a lot of upcoming projects
Results == I probably wont be able to take any 'real' time off between now and ?August?

For reference, my last time off of more-than-just-a-long-weekend was in October 2009.

Man, I don't want to enter into the working world... it sounds terrible.

Does it get too hot to bike in Alameda? It's really hot here in Davis (of course).

Well Rich... your bad news is REALLY BAD! So sorry! Janet... I would strongly advise to focus on finding a job that will allow you freedom... like teaching. With teaching you have all major holidays "off" and summer to do what you want to do. We all know teachers are never really OFF, but you get what I mean, right? Actually, just write your novel and THAT will be your job, right?
