April 2004 Trip to Ukiah - Day 1
Alameda to Healdsburg
Chris and I took off on Tuesday from our home in Alameda and started for Ukiah.
We went North on I-80 and took the reverse short-cut of American Canyon Road on our way over to Highway 29.
We stopped along the way in Napa and wandered around the downtown area. We had an awesome lunch at the Buckhorn Grill and I bought a couple of Hawaii shirts at McCaulou's. Both of these stores are in the Napa Town Center complex.
We wanted to visit COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts, but they are closed on Tuesdays.
We stopped for a stretch in Yountville and got some Easter treats and bread at Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery. We wandered around in the "Vintage 1870" shops for a bit...but they were too touristy for our tastes.
Niebaum Coppola Vineyard
We picked up some artisan cheese and Molanari pepperoni at the Dean & Delucca store in St. Helena.
We spent the night in Healdsburg at the very forgettable Best Western Dry Creek Inn.
