Another ...
hot & humid day in New Orleans.
Chris & I set off this morning for the NOMA (New Orleans Museum of Art).
We walked up Convention Center Blvd to the Harrah's Casino.
This is a very strange casino (by Nevada standards). It is a very quiet place - there are no sounds of coins clinking in the trays of the slot machines because they 'pay' by printing a ticket you have to redeem at the Cashier's cage. The machines themselves don't even except coins. Paper money only here.
I wanted to play some Blackjack - but the 'cheapest' table had a $15 minimum. But we saw 2¢ slot machines. What gives?
After Chris got her Starbucks fix (Iced Quad Venti nonfat Latte) in the Casino, we went outside to Canal Street and waited for the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority 'new-old' Canal Streetcar.
After a significant wait, we caught the #45 and rode it to the end of the line at the "City Park/Museum" stop. Yippee, the streetcars on this line are air-conditioned.
We then had a five minute walk thru the park to the entrance to NOMA (New Orleans Museum of Art).
We wandered around the first floor of the Museum until our feet started to hurt, then had a nice but expensive lunch in the Courtyard Café.
After lunch we browsed thru the Museum Shop, then headed outside to the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. We took pictures at several places along the paths. I think that the picture we took here will look the best.
After the heat & humidity did its' worst to us, we headed back inside to explore the second floor of the Museum.
Among other things, we saw the "Photon Torpedo Bracelet". I'll post more info on this later.

and then we got back 'home' to the Hampton Inn - Convention Center.
